Why incoming SHS students must choose HUMSS strand? 


What is HUMSS? 

            - HUMSS stands for Humanities and Social Sciences. This strand focuses on the study of human behavior and societal changes, and analysis of arts, culture, literature, and politics. HUMSS subject includes political science, anthropology, linguistics, psychology, and communication. 

What is the purpose and importance of it? 

            - This strand is designated for students who would want to engage in a college degree on liberal arts and education. One of the advantages in taking this strand is that, it can help you to enhance your speaking skills and can build and boost your self esteem and self confidence. 

What can you learn from HUMSS strand? 

                - Students who chooses HUMSS strand develops the needed knowledge and skills in bringing positive change through the study of social sciences, theories, and concepts, community-based realities, study in culture society and politics, and many more. 

Why do you need to choose HUMSS?

- As a student studying in a HUMSS strand, I can definitely say that choosing this strand certainly is one of the greatest decisions I have made in my life. Not being biased, but this strand helped me to gain my confidence and self-esteem once again. Honestly, I don't really have any idea on what career path I would want to pursue. But when I chose this strand, it helped me to clarify what career would suit me the best. Also, if you've made up your mind and you'd want to pursue this strand, I might have to remind you that this strand focuses and revolves on improving the students in writing, reading, and comprehending. It'll also help you to strengthen your logical reasonings, critical thinking, analysis, and creativity.
